HP and the HBP Movie

Thu Jul 16, 2009, 5:31 AM
  • Mood: Bliss
  • Listening to: Let You Down by Three Days Grace
  • Playing: HP: POA on GBA
So I saw "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" last night at the 10:00 show at Marcus on the ULTRA-SCREEN with my cousin and her bf that I consider to be my cousin, my friend Kim, and of course, Amy. Note to people who go to a HP movie on the day that it comes out: If you're in a group, get there early. We ended up spliting up and sat in the sets of two seats in a row. Amy and I sat next to each other, Kim sat by herself and Katie and Cody sat next to each other.
And previews suck.
On to the movie...
Amazing. This is my second favorite one. There was a lot of humor like the book, but it was still sort of dark, like the book. However, I did have some problems...

But I'm not going to post all of them even though I just spent five minutes typing them out, just because I want to respect the people who haven't seen the movie. (Although, they should have at least read the book, but I know how people are...-.-)

So yeah. Second favorite movie!! :D

I was about to ask what your first favorite was and then I facepalmed. I liked it too! I saw the midnight showing over in crestwood, it was quite awesome. I thought some of the previews were cool! Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief, for one... the book is awesome!

As far as the movie goes, I loved it- one of my friends was really dissappointed, though- she thought there was too much teenaged love angst. I think this one IS my favorite.

I wish I could have went at midnight, but then again I don't because of the screaming fans. And I think you saw different previews than I did.

I hated how the Harry/Ginny started at the beginning of the movie and it didn't show any build up to it, in my opinion. I can see how your friend was disappointed.

This one COULD be by favorite, but POA is always #1 in my heart. :D

BTW, Did you have the sudden temptation to laugh when Dumbledore was falling off the tower and then later when there was nothing but silence, or was that just me? XD

You notice the massive amount of stuff that got left out, too?

For example, the MASSIVE BATTLE BETWEEN THE HOGWARTS TEACHERS AND THE DEATH EATERS IN HOGWARTS THAT IS THE CLIMAX OF THE STORY. Yeah. They sort of forgot about it. :|

Oh yes. In my original journal, I was typing all the stuff I was mad that they left out and I realized just how much they left out.

And the massive battle was scrapped because they want to save all the action for the next movie. :/

damn!! i hate you!! jk. but i REALLY want to see that movie, though.

I didnt go to the marcus one for that reason- the screaming fans, I mean. Seriously, Marcus gets all the scary screaming fanatics on the opening night- the regular fanatics go to other theaters XD.

I saw some of the build up, but they really did jump into it, didn't they? Then again, they can't do the whole 'monster in my chest' thing for Harry, so...

This one IS my favorite- it's my second favorite book, but it's my FAVORITE movie 'cause the movie for the Fourth sucked.

I did! I didn't laugh, really, I caught myself before that happened, but I did do a little gigglesnort type thing. It was when everybody lifted their little glowing wands that I got sad.

Hey, was I theonly one to jump a mile when the Inferi grabbed Harry? I was expecting it too! not jump because of the book, but because of the whole atmosphere!
